How SuperEnalotto actually works
SuperEnalotto looks simple — pick 6 numbers from 1–90 for €1 — but it carries two quirks no other major lottery has in quite the same shape: a Jolly bonus ball you don't choose, and an optional SuperStar you do. Here's the whole picture.
The Jolly number
After the six main numbers, one more ball — the Jolly — is drawn from the 84 that remain. You never pick it and it costs nothing. It only matters if you've matched exactly 5 of the 6 mains: catching the Jolly with your 6th number lifts you from the “5” tier into the far bigger “5+1” tier, usually worth hundreds of thousands of euros.
The SuperStar number
SuperStar is an optional number you choose (1–90) for €0.50 more. It's drawn from a separate machine, so it can be the same as one of your mains. It opens extra prize tiers plus two “SuperBonus” rewards: all 6 + SuperStar pays +€2M on top of the jackpot, and 5 + Jolly + SuperStar pays +€1M. Toggle it on in the generator above to include it.
The six core prize tiers
Match your picks against the six main numbers (plus the Jolly for “5+1”). Odds are per single €1 line; prizes are pari-mutuel, so amounts move with ticket sales and the number of winners.
| Tier | You match | Odds (per line) |
|---|---|---|
| 6 — Jackpot | All 6 main numbers | 1 in 622,614,630 |
| 5+1 | 5 mains + the Jolly | 1 in 103,769,105 |
| 5 | 5 main numbers | 1 in 1,250,230 |
| 4 | 4 main numbers | 1 in 11,907 |
| 3 | 3 main numbers | 1 in 327 |
| 2 | 2 main numbers | 1 in 22 |
Overall you've roughly a 1 in 20 shot at any prize on a plain line, or about 1 in 16 if you add SuperStar. The “2” tier is the floor — it didn't exist before February 2016. There's also an Instant Win: 1 in every 500 tickets pays €25 on the spot via a “Magic Square” printed on the ticket, before any draw happens. The jackpot has no cap and never rolls down, which is how it reached a record €371M in 2023 — but Italian prizes above €500 are taxed at 20%.
Fair by maths, private by design
Many online pickers lean on Math.random(), which isn't built to be unpredictable. Ours uses your device's cryptographically-secure randomness — the same class trusted for encryption keys — and we use rejection sampling so no number is quietly favoured over another. Your picks are made on your device and never transmitted anywhere.
Worth saying plainly: a generator can't predict a draw or improve your odds. Every SuperEnalotto combination always has exactly the same chance — and at 1 in 622,614,630 they’re the longest odds of any major lottery. What this gives you is a clean, unbiased, genuinely random line — and the option to take it further with our SHA-256 entropy generators, where your own mouse movement seeds the result.
