    🎲 Provably fair · SHA-256 · Free

Paste names or numbers, press race, and let provably-fair marbles decide. The finishing order is fixed by a SHA-256 seed before the first marble drops — the race just makes it fun to watch.

    How the race stays honest

Before anything moves, the picker hashes your seed with a counter — SHA-256 of seed:0, seed:1 and so on — and uses those digits to shuffle your entries with a Fisher–Yates draw. That shuffled list is the finishing order, locked in and shown in the verify panel.

The animation is choreography, not chance. Every marble is assigned a crossing time that matches its locked rank, the wobbles and overtakes are generated from the same seed, and the finish can never contradict the math. Replay the seed on any device and you get the identical race.

Nothing leaves your browser. Entries, seed and results stay on your device, which also means a shared seed is all anyone needs to confirm your draw was clean.

    FAQ

    Questions, answered

Is the marble race really fair?
Yes. The finishing order is computed from a SHA-256 seed before the marbles move, using the same provably-fair method as every Luck.fyi generator. The animation only replays that result.
    How is the winner decided?
Each rank is drawn by hashing the seed with a counter and using the digits to shuffle your entries. The verify panel shows every hash, so you can check the draw by hand.
Can I use it for raffles, giveaways and classrooms?
That is exactly what it is for. Paste the entries, run the race, and share the seed so everyone can replay the identical result and confirm nobody touched it.
Why does the same seed give the same race?
The seed is the only source of randomness. Same seed, same hashes, same order, same finish — on any device. That is what makes the draw verifiable instead of trust-based.
How many entries can I race?
From 2 to 40 per race. Blank lines are ignored and duplicate names are numbered so every marble stays identifiable on the track and in the results.
    Is this gambling?
No. Nothing is staked and nothing is paid out. It is a free picker that decides an order — who goes first, who wins the mug, who presents on Monday.
